Summer Playlists: BLOGNY 2016

  1. A playlist for: When you are dancing. Warm colours, warm skin, freckle dusted shoulders, brown and tan and sweet. Grains of sand in your bed, in-between your toes. Grainy photos of the stars and your laugh and the ocean after midnight. Drunk off sunshine and the bitter of beer on someone else’s breath. Sangria and $10 wine bottles, dancing in the street, no shoes on your feet. Limping and hopping and running fast, falling fast. Into infinity and blue, cold sea to clear sky and the feeling that you are flying and you are beautiful and you are here.

2. A playlist for: When you are driving. Soft, mellow and hot and the windows are down and the wind is hurtling in and this is only the beginning. Sun warmed water bottles, messy ponytail, mint gum breath. Chocolate bars melted soft in their packets, sticky ice-cream hands and mouths. Turn it up. Stiff necks from geometric sleeping angles. Seatbelt imprinted into cheeks, sleepy eyes and white socks on the dashboard. Head banging through the sand dunes, mountains on the horizon, the stars are bright here. Never too far from the ocean or the next thing to fall in love with.

3. A playlist for: When you are in the sun with the softness of the blue and the sun blanketing you. For when there are endings that you can’t unsee because they are too obvious under the brightness of the light. Soft and sweet and impressionable. Press too hard you will break but you are still here. Everything is so much and you do not have the hands to hold it all but you are still trying. For when it goes too fast but you are standing still in the colours. Listening to the music, the waves, the city traffic, the flowers, the heat, the silence, the alone. Crying, but listening.
